Like most women in the US, I choose to shave basically any and all hair on my body that grows below my scalp. I’m not a candidate for laser hair removal because my hair is too light, so shaving has been my go-to hair removal method for most of my life. I have waxed in the past without ever really committing to regular appointments for one reason or another, but was planning to get back into it when I got the opportunity to have a Brazilian wax done at a local Seattle salon. We made several rookie travel mistakes on our recent trip to Europe, so today I’m rounding up our dos and don’ts of international travel!
A huge component of travel is learning and expanding your world. Although making mistakes helps us to learn and grow, making them while traveling can be very costly. Do you ever come back from a trip and feel blah? As you get back into the swing of everyday life, it’s common to feel bored or disappointed with day-to-day activities. The contrast between vacation mode (relaxed, no deadlines, new adventures on every block) and regular life, combined with the let-down of your trip being over, can cause what’s often referred to as post-travel depression or post-vacation blues.
Whether it’s a quick weekend getaway or a weeks-long international trip, I always experience some level of disappointment or sadness when I get home. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorite tips for beating the post-vacay blues. Continue reading 4 Ways to Beat Post Travel Depression | Taylor Tries Things
Today I’m sharing my personal review of the JORD (pronounced yode) Cassia wood watch, but to be honest, I have never been a watch person. The only watch I’ve ever consistently worn was a Michael Kors rose gold watch my mom gifted to me, but when its battery died a few years ago, I never had it replaced. I’ve owned a handful of cheap watches, but their low quality only reinforced my disinterest in wearing one.
You may be wondering why I, a self-proclaimed non-watch person, would agree to review a watch. When JORD reached out to offer one of their wood watches for me to review, I decided to keep an open mind. I was thrilled to see how unique and beautiful their product line is. Their watches provide more than a read on the time; each timepiece has a distinct personality and serves as a statement styling accessory and conversation starter. I was excited to style my new JORD watch and give watch-wearing another go, so I submitted my wrist measurements and waited patiently for my new watch to arrive. Stumped on what to wear to all your upcoming summer weddings? Today I’m sharing 3 great options — and the best part is you don’t have to commit to actually owning them (commitment-phobes rejoice).
Hi friends! I tried lymphatic decongestion therapy earlier this month and learned so much! In this post, I’m sharing an overview of the lymphatic system, the benefits of lymphatic drainage, and how my experience with lymphatic decongestion therapy went.
Since moving to Seattle, I’ve learned that cherry trees have beautiful blossoms and they’re kind of a big deal here. People commute from far and wide to see the Seattle cherry blossoms as they peak in April and May. The most notable spot for spectating the cherry blossoms is at University of Washington’s quad, which becomes swarmed with admirers trying to get their perfect shot of the blooms. I’m sure I’m not alone in my belief that taking time away from work or school to travel and explore elsewhere is so important for recharging our batteries and expanding our minds. As everyone’s gearing up for spring and summer travel, it seems like a great time to discuss beauty on the go.
Today I’m sharing how I tint my brows and lashes at home to take them from blonde and invisible to dark and poppin’! My body did this cruel thing where it allowed my once-blonde hair to darken into a mousy brown while keeping my lashes and brows nearly-invisible-white-blonde. There’s nothing wrong with blonde brows (hello, Jenny Mustard), but I personally like to have visible ones 24/7, so I began tinting them in college to save myself a little time on days I didn’t feel like doing a full makeup look. The process is super simple and affordable, so I’ve continued and never looked back! Continue reading [Tutorial] How I Tint my Brows and Lashes at Home
I drafted this post in December 2018 with the best of intentions, but alas, it’s February. The good news is these products are still as amazing as they were two months ago, so here we go: as 2018 comes to a close, I wanted to share a few finds that I fell in love with and will continue to use in the new year.
